Eligibility:
To earn the CBAP® certification, applicants must meet the following criteria:
  • Minimum 7500 hours of BA work experience aligned with A Guide to the Business Analysis Book of Knowledge® (BABOK® Guide) in the last 10 years
  • Minimum 900 hours in four of the six knowledge areas
  • Minimum 21 hours of Professional Development in the past four years
  • Two references from a career manager, client or Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) recipient
  • Signed Code of Conduct
Process:
Exam format
The CBAP® exam is 3.5 hours long and consists of 150 multiple choice questions with four possible answers to select from. Some questions are based on “comprehension” (e.g., definition, recall, etc.) and others are based on “situational analysis” (e.g., given a scenario, which is the best course of action) where the applicant must do a bit of analysis to arrive at the answer. It is neither all of one type or the other but covers a range of Bloom’s Taxonomy.

Examination Fee:
First attempt ($325.00 USD for IIBA® members or $450.00 USD for non-members, plus GST/HST for Canadian residents)
